                               RESOLUTION NO. 19440
                  
                  
                   A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OR
                   ADMINISTRATOR OF THE DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL
                   SERVICES TO ADMINISTER THE HOME INVESTMENT
                   PARTNERSHIPS PROGRAM FUNDS RECEIVED FROM THE
                   UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND
                   URBAN DEVELOPMENT IN 1992 AND 1993 AND TO
                   ENTER INTO ALL CONTRACTS NECESSARY TO CARRY
                   OUT SAID PROGRAM IN ACCORDANCE WITH
                   APPLICABLE REGULATIONS OF THE UNITED STATES
                   DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT.
                  
                                                    
                  
                  
       	    	 WHEREAS, the City of Chattanooga, Tennessee has been
       allocated the sum of $1,409,000.00 for 1992 with possible similar 

       funding in 1993 for the HOME Investment Partnerships Program
       enacted under Title II of the Cranston-Gonzalez National
       Affordable Housing Act;
                                NOW, THEREFORE,
       	    	 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
       CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That the Mayor or Administrator of the
       Department of General Services be and are hereby authorized to
       administer the HOME Investment Partnerships Program funds 
received
       from the United States Department of Housing and Urban 
Development
       in 1992 and 1993 and to enter into all contracts necessary to
       carry out said program in accordance with applicable regulations
       of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development.
